So, today is the day Ellie gets her teeth yanked. She climbed into bed with me at 330AM saying she was very scared. Poor kid.
Okay, about the Nanowrimo, I have had a couple of inquiries as to what you win. Well... nothing. Not a damn thing. What you "win" is the satisfaction of writing a 50,000 word novel. That's it. Your book does not get published, nobody ever reads it, nobody ever critiques it, it is literally an exercise in tenacity. You type it within the Nanowrimo "world" so that your word count is submitted everyday. Most people would say "Why?". I guess unless you have never had a burning desire to write you may not understand. Most of us who always thought they would write a book "someday" that "someday" never ever comes. Well, that is exactly how Nanowrimo was born. The guy that created it felt that way, and decided to challenge himself and his friends back in 1999 to finish a novel in 30 or 31 days. He wrote a book about it, it is like a guide book to participating, and it is hilarious! But anyway, back then 27 people started and only 12 finished. And now there are literally thousands and thousands of people from over 30 countries that attempt to not go crazy from writing in one month.
I'll let you know how Ellie does.
