Autism spoke to me today
in a booming voice
from a boy
close to my heart

Writing his name
so sure, so sweet
a dream I had for him
come true

The voice came
in a burst of tears
I could barely see the screen
my whole being
celebrating
for him

I hope one day
he knows how much
I dearly dearly love him
his whole self

He is a gift to us
his smile
his joy
his tender way
about him

My prayer, for you
little, Elias
is that life is good to you
that you soar to great heights
that your lows are few
you are so precious to me
And I love you.
